How To: Simple Braided Bun

I've been trying a lot of new things out with my hair lately. It seems that with hair as long as mine, I may as well take advantage of it!
This has been one of my favourite hairstyles lately. It seems to hold up quite well, if I do it well! I have no doubt that this will be a lifesaver as soon as I'm in another show. It can be difficult to find a hairstyle that hold up with a lot of dancing but still looks cute!
Along with this tutorial, I have some step-by-step photos so that you can follow along. It always works for me, but it may not for you! Just remember that I'm no hair expert by any stretch of the imagination. Feel free to alter these steps so that they work for you!
Before you start, I'd like to say that I prefer to do this on two-day-old hair. I find that it holds better that way!

1. Brush out your hair and use whatever products you would like. I usually use a little dry shampoo and smoothing cream if my hair has been frizzy.
2. Braid your hair. If you have little pieces that you'd like to keep back, pin them back before. I also like to do a little bit of a French braid so it keeps my growing-out bangs out of my face. Also, remember that your braid doesn't have to be neat! Mine certainly isn't.
3. Twist your braid into a bun and fasten with bobby pins. You do this in the way that you would normally do a bun.
4. Add a little hairspray, and you're done! You can also use cute pins or bows if you would like.

If you try this I would love to know! You can leave a comment down below or email me at littlemoondragon@outlook.com.
Do you have any other hairstyles that you would like a tutorial for? If you do, please let me know! I would love to try it out.

~Amy~

  8. Gorgeous hair Amy, it looks great :-)

I used to have long hair like yours, then I got fed up with it and got a lot chopped off. It's just about shoulder length now. But my hair grows quite quickly!

  10. Amyyy D: I don't know how to make a bun at all lol. I can't even make one with open hair because I have no idea where the ends are suppose to get tucked in. So I just keep it braided or twisted up in a hair catcher.
Your messy braid looks super cute though :D very instagram-y.

    1. Thank you so much Catalina! To make a bun, I usually just put it in a ponytail then twist it all around, it that makes any sense. Then I just fasten it and tuck in the ends with bobby pins ♥

Anyway, this is such a lovely look, perfect for hot summer days when you just want your hair away from your neck and face!! :D
