July Favourites

July was a weird month for me. In these posts, I usually say either that the month went very quickly or very slowly for me. However, July was a mix of both. It was the start of my summer holidays, and on one hand, I can't believe it's already over. But on the other hand, I'm still wondering what took it so long.

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Lotion
I already obsessed over this in my last post, but I just had to mention it again.
This scent guys. This scent.
I'm in love with the scent. Enough said.
Also, though it isn't as moisturizing as a body butter or something along those lines, it does quite a good job of moisturizing and is one of the best regular body lotions that I've ever tried.
This stuff makes my lashes look HUGE. It gives more length than volume, but it makes my lashes look darker than some volume-based mascaras, so it balances out. It does leave a slight bit of residue under my eyes, but I really don't mind because of how cheap this mascara is.

Just Peachy

I've been obsessed with everything peach lately.
Firstly, I fell in love with the fruit after getting them from a farmers market. What tastes better than fresh peaches?
Secondly, I love the scent. What better a smell to flood your senses than that of freshly picked peaches?
Lastly, I love the colour. Though the colour that most people think of when they hear "peach" is not the shade of peaches themselves, it's a gorgeous shade nonetheless.
Because of this peach obsession, I thought that I'd share some of my peach-themed favourites.

This is such a perfect summer tea. Of course, you can drink it hot, but I think that it's even better cold. To me, this is ten times better than regular iced tea.

I think that this may be my favourite body lotions that I've ever tried. It's not as moisturizing as a body butter of course, but it's the best regular body lotion that I've tried. Also, I'm absolutely in love with the smell, I may have to get some other products from the range.

Recent Reads Part 1

I don't talk about it a lot on my blog, but I am a total bookworm. Growing up, books were something of great value in my household, and almost weekly we would all trek to our local library, and when we got home, we would try and find a spot in our overflowing bookshelves to fit in our borrowed books. I almost always have a book on the go, and consistently find comfort in their black-and-white pages.
Since I've been on summer vacation, I've been reading quite a lot lately, so I thought that I'd share with you my five favourite books that I've read recently. Just to let you know, none of these books are particularly happy. In fact, the majority of them are quite sad.
I decided that this was the summer that I needed to read more classics, and this is the one I decided to start with. This book gave me more insight into what the American South was like in the 1930s, something that I've never really had any reason to learn about before, being Canadian and all. What I did not expect was for this book to be written in the point of view of a child. As smart as children can be, the world is still seen differently from their eyes. Children are born without prejudice, and the way that they are raised has the potential to shape their whole lives. To see the world from the eyes of a child who doesn't quite understand the complication, hatred, and bias of the world they live in gives this book a unique feel.

July's Ask The Blogger: Randi Butler from Milk & Twee

Hello everyone! I'm here today with July's Ask The Blogger, this time with the amazing Randi Butler from Milk & Twee. If you don't know what Ask The Blogger is, it's a monthly series where you guys send in questions for a blogger and I compile them all into one big post. I'm very excited for todays interview, as Randi has been a huge inspiration to me.
     1. Hi Randi! Could you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
Hey everyone thank you so much for reading! Well I'm Randi Butler. I'm an artist/musician/creative from Poughkeepsie, New York and I'm a little obsessed with fashion. I created Milk & Twee as an outlet for my love of adorable, vintage-inspired fashion from various decades and it's slowly turning into something much more than that.

    Beside the Sea

Even though I'm not a great swimmer, there's something about endless expanses of water that make me feel safe. Odd, isn't it? With my abilities, I should technically feel threatened by the idea of seemingly endless water, but I don't. Instead, it makes me feel calm. Even if I don't like to swim in it, I love being around water.
Because of how calming I find water, I thought that I'd round up a few things that give me the same calm feeling that the thought of the sea does. Even if I can't visit a sea this summer, I'm trying to channel the thought of it.
